Mobile/Cell phones are one of the most popular and convenient ways of communicating in the UK. Before you buy one check out a few suppliers and compare packages they offer. Don’t be fooled by a deal that initially seems cheap it may end up costing you more on monthly line rental or call charges.

You have a number of options available to you when purchasing a mobile:
 

• Pay-as-you-go – You purchase the phone and buy credit in advance in the form of vouchers or direct from the network supplier. No contract or bills.
   

• Pay Monthly - You sign up to a network for a period of usually 12months and the network bills you on a monthly basis for calls and services you have used.
   

• Pre-paid – Similar to pay monthly however you pay for your calls in advance and if you use more calls than you’ve paid for the network will bill you monthly.
